They also met other kids with a similar passion for singing and music.

Favorite memories are having grandparents come to all the concerts. We were all so proud of our kids and the kids felt so special having a special event for their parents, siblings and grandparents to attend and listen to them sing. My favorite memory from CCHC isI always looked forward to Monday nights and getting to learn music and meet new people! When I was in Treble Choir, we were asked to be a part of Huntington University’s production of the Hansel and Gretel opera. Our role was to dress as the pieces of candy that Hansel and Gretel find along the way to the witch’s house. I was so excited to find out what type of candy I got to dress up as, only to find out I had been assigned a raisin. My costume was a 2XL men’s purple sweater with black tights. It’s a funny memory to look back on now for sure! I also thoroughly enjoyed going to New York City to sing with the National Children’s Choir at Carnegie Hall. What an incredible experience!

CCHC Choirs: Treble Choir & Concert Choir

CCHC impacted me by improving my singing and performing abilities and helped me break me out of my comfort zone. I used to be afraid of performing in front of an audience and CCHC helped me overcome that. Later on I was invited back to join the CCHC Board after helping in a committee with the 25th anniversary of CCHC and currently serve as Secretary on the board.

My favorite memory from CCHC was going to New York City and getting to sing at Carnegie Hall with other choirs from all over the United States. It still is surreal to me that I got to sing where other well known performers had sang before. Also the entire choir being in charge of keeping an eye on Jacob White because we feared losing him in the crowds. Everywhere we went we had to stop and say, “Where’s Jacob?”
